Hey, sometimes you don't want to use the search engine and look by yourself, we get it. We did spend a lot of time aggregating all that data, and talking and cooperating with all these different companies, but we'll just tell you what the cheapest options are for each size category. We've determined "small" to be between 4 and 12 cubic yards, "medium" to be 12-25 cubic yards, and "large” to be anything bigger than that (i.e. 25-40cy). Small is going to be enough for most DIY projects, and medium is likely more than enough for any residential, homeowner project. If you're a contractor or have a whopper of a situation on your hands, you can look at the large category (but be careful that the bin can fit on the property - they're really big). If you need more info on picking a size, take a look at our post on Choosing the Right Dumpster.

Sometimes our projects are very important and come with very strict deadlines, and sometimes we put off doing the dishes for so long that we make the news for having assisted the scientific community in creating new bacterial lifeforms. The point is, sometimes life gets in the way, and timelines get a bit extended. Top Tips for Renting a Dumpster in Delta
Delta experiences a mild coastal climate with significant rainfall, especially during the fall and winter months. To prevent rainwater from accumulating in your roll-off bin, which can increase its weight and potentially lead to overage fees, consider tarping your dumpster before a rainfall event or renting one with a lid. Stay updated on Delta's extended weather forecast to stay prepared for any inclement weather
While Delta's winters are generally milder compared to other parts of Canada, there can still be occasional freezing temperatures. To avoid your roll-off bin freezing onto your property or waste freezing to the bin, ensure it is placed on a well-drained surface and consider using a tarp to cover the contents.
In Delta, you can place a dumpster on your own property without special permits. However, if you need to place it on public property, such as a street or alley, you must obtain a Highway Use Permit (HUP) from the City of Delta. The total charge for a HUP is $101 plus applicable taxes. Ensure you comply with local regulations to avoid fines. More information can be found on the City of Delta's official website.
The City of Delta also provides a list of requirements for placement of waste containers - although this should be the purview of the hauler, it might help to know when determining where you might be able to place the bin and plan accordingly.
When placing a dumpster near a fire hydrant, maintain a clearance of at least one meter around the hydrant. Obstructing a fire hydrant can result in fines and removal of the obstruction. Check the City of Delta's bylaws for detailed information.
Delta is served by several waste disposal and recycling facilities, including the Vancouver Landfill located at 5400 72nd Street. This facility accepts a wide range of materials for recycling and disposal. Additionally, Clean Harbors provides storage, transfer, and treatment of various waste types, including drums, bulk solids, liquids, and sludge. Terrapure Environmental Facility accepts types of hazardous waste. For more information on accepted materials and fees, visit the Vancouver Landfill website.
Delta's road network can experience congestion, particularly during peak hours. When scheduling drop-off or pickup of your roll-off bin, consider avoiding busy times to ensure timely service. Major roads such as Highway 17, Highway 99, and the South Fraser Perimeter Road can be particularly busy.
Delta encompasses both urban and rural areas. If your property is in a more rural location, especially outside Ladner or Tsawwassen, ensure that the hauler has clear directions and that the access roads can accommodate a hauling truck. Be aware of any potential fuel or "out-of-town" surcharges that may apply, as most haulers provide service to the entire Metro Vancouver region.
